Terms of Service

Last updated: April 23, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at familylawyerdivorce.com (the "Site") and the attorney matching service provided by FamilyLawyerDivorce ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site or Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or Service.

1. Not a Law Firm

FamilyLawyerDivorce is not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or any other legal services. We do not employ attorneys. We are an online service that matches individuals seeking a family law attorney with independent attorneys who practice in the matter area and geographic location you indicate.

Any communication you have with us is not privileged and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Submitting a match request through our Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is only formed between you and the independent attorney you choose to hire, pursuant to a separate engagement agreement between you and that attorney.

2. Description of Service

Our Service connects individuals seeking a family law attorney with independent attorneys who participate in our matching network. When you submit a match request, we review the information you provide and identify an attorney we believe is a reasonable fit based on your location and the nature of your legal matter. That attorney may then contact you directly to schedule a consultation.

We make no guarantee that any attorney will contact you, that any attorney will accept your case, or that any particular outcome will result from your matter. The decision to retain any attorney is entirely yours.

3. No Legal Advice

Nothing on the Site — including articles, FAQs, statistics, and general descriptions of legal processes — constitutes legal advice. The content is provided for general informational purposes only. Legal advice depends on the specific facts of your situation and the law of your jurisdiction, and must come from a licensed attorney who has reviewed your case.

Do not rely on information from our Site to make legal decisions. Do not delay seeking legal advice because of something you read here. If you need legal help, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

4. Independence of Attorneys

Attorneys in our network are independent professionals. They are not our employees, partners, or agents. We do not control or supervise their legal work. We make no representation or warranty regarding any attorney's skill, experience, competence, success rate, ethics, or suitability for your particular matter. All attorneys are solely responsible for the legal services they provide to you.

The fees, billing practices, scope of representation, and all other aspects of the attorney-client relationship are matters between you and the attorney you choose to hire. We are not a party to your engagement agreement and do not receive any portion of attorney fees paid by you.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use our Service. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. The Service is intended for use by individuals located in the United States seeking family law representation in the United States.

6. Acceptable Use

When using the Site or Service, you agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or relationship to a matter
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any law or regulation
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, our servers, or our security measures
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, our systems, or any account
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Site
  • Submit match requests on behalf of someone else without their informed consent
  • Harass, threaten, or mistreat any attorney we match you with

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate access, remove content, and take legal action against any user who violates these acceptable use terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The Site, including all content, design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any portion of the Site without our prior written consent. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for its intended purpose.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it carefully.

9. Disclaimers

The site and service are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

We make no representation or warranty regarding any attorney in our network or the outcome of any matter. We do not guarantee the quality, availability, or responsiveness of any attorney we match you with.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall FamilyLawyerDivorce, its owners, officers, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill — arising out of or related to your use of the site or service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to the site or service shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FamilyLawyerDivorce and its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site or Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your violation of the rights of any third party.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Site or Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

You agree that any cause of action arising out of or related to the Site or Service must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues, or be forever barred.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Site ends immediately. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) shall survive.

14. Attorney Advertising

Depending on your jurisdiction, this website may constitute "attorney advertising" under applicable rules of professional conduct. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome in any future matter. No representation is made that the quality of legal services to be performed by any attorney in our network is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other attorneys.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Site. Your continued use of the Site or Service after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and Service. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them freely.
